The CMCP601 Rotor Kits were developed as a small working example of a real machine where vibration signals may be simulated under realistic circumstances. Both short (single critical) and long based (two criticals) rotor kits are available as an option. A variety of transducers may be installed to provide vibration signals. These signals may be used to train vibration analysts or maintenance personnel to troubleshoot actual vibration transducer systems or vibration signals.
A variety of measurements may be obtained and studied using the Rotor Kit:
- Frequency Based Signals
- Time Based Signals
- Orbital Analysis
- Balancing
- Runout
- Rotor Bow
Identify Rotor Critical Speeds Shaft Relative Signals Resonance Amplitude Factor Rotor Dynamic Studies Phase Signals The Rotor Kit using sleeve type bearings is primarily studied using Time Based analysis techniques such as time waveforms, orbits, and shaft position plotting, phase, and mode shape analysis. With the optional ball bearing, a FFT type instrument is useful to study the frequencies generated by the bearing.
The standard Rotor Kit is supplied with a detailed Workbook with example experiments, a speed controller, pre-lubricated sleeve bearings, balance weights, and a rotor mass which has been drilled and tapped with balance weight locations. The speed controller comes complete with an ON/OFF switch, fuse, SCR speed control, and a status light. Transducer attachment brackets are supplied to accept 1/4"-28 UNF threaded Proximity Probes to monitor Phase and shaft relative vibration.
The optional Driver Plate (Prox. Plate) may be used to mount the Din Rail SKF Eddy Probe Drivers and Power Supply. An optional Rolling Element Bearing assembly is available which consists of one (1) bearing block with a ball bearing installed. The bearing assembly is drilled and tapped 1/4" x 28 UNF to accept standard accelerometers and velocity transducers.
